Wilson’s Catch of the Day
fishmonger glasgow west end

If you have lived in the west end for any length of time, you will know that Wilson’s Catch of the Day is one of the most trusted fishmongers in the area, providing beautiful fresh produce to Finnieston and the surrounding area.

Now though, Stuart Wilson and the team have made the move from the back streets of Finnieston to the hustle and bustle of Hyndland, just off Clarence Drive on Lauderdale Gardens. The move allows for a lot more natural footfall, and has given Stuart and the team a sense of community back.

“We didn’t even have windows in the old Finnieston shop,” explains Stuart. “Now, I just love being able to look out the window and see the world going by – we even have customers giving us a wave when they walk by, even if they are not popping in. We have been so welcomed to the area by all the surrounding small businesses and it feels like a really positive change.”

At Wilson’s, the focus since it first opened its doors in 2015 is always on providing its customers with the best quality fresh fish and shellfish from across Scotland. Their produce arrives straight from the markets and fishing boats to the shop, so you know you are always getting the best quality seafood, whether you’re after cod, halibut, or some stunning hand dived king scallops.

Providing this level of freshness does mean that availability varies depending on the day, but there is always a good variety. The shop also offers a small selection of fresh fruit and vegetables and other local fresh and store cupboard Scottish produce, from cheese to chorizo, so you can get all of your recipe inspiration under one roof.

Make sure you pop into Wilson’s Catch of the Day and treat yourself to some stunning seafood soon.
