Pinocchio at Maryhill Community Central Halls

‘A Real Glesga Panto, Nae Lies!’

Glasgow will be invaded by fairytale characters this December as Panto comes to town. ‘Oh no it won’t!’, ‘Oh yes it will!”. Causing pandemonium at The Pavilion, chaos at the Kings and shenanigans at the SEC, our Babes in the Wood-lands are simply out of control!

And none more than that mischievous little puppet Pinocchio who is appearing at the Maryhill Community Central Halls this December.

Halo Boys and Girls!
Affordable pantomimes glasgow

Once again Halo Arts are behind Glasgow’s biggest community pantomine. Always a memorable affair, unfortunately this year the acting might be a little wooden. For Pinocchio is a wooden puppet — how Geppetto wishes he was a real boy. Cue the Blue Fairy to grant Geppetto’s wish and start a rollercoaster adventure. Can Pinocchio escape from the clutches of Stromboli, the wicked West End puppet master? Can wee Jiminy Cricket help his puppet pal become a real boy? And can Pinocchio stop being a right wee fibber before his nose becomes the newest bridge to cross the Clyde?

The annual Halo Arts community panto project starts off with a tour across Glasgow, visiting local schools and community venues. Then from the 19th-22nd of December, Maryhill Community Central Halls is home to this heart-warming show.

Committed to the Community

Now in its seventh year, the panto is central to Halo’s commitment to providing accessible community based projects. With the show touring the community and schools, plus affordable ticket prices for the main panto in Maryhill, this festive tradition can be enjoyed by all.

Stephanie Falls is, once again directing. Writer and Producer Brendon McIlroy is founder and Artistic Director of Halo Arts. Brendon says, ‘It’s brilliant to be back in Maryhill with our seventh annual community panto! This year, we’re taking things even further — slashing prices to make sure Pinocchio is accessible for absolutely everyone, especially at a time when affordable and accessible family experiences are more important than ever. With big city centre pantos charging £35 or more for a ticket, we want to make sure folk in our community don’t miss out on the magic of panto.

As well as being a venue-based show, the panto is also on of Glasgow’s biggest community projects, reaching over 12,000 people each year. It’s what we’re all about at Halo Arts — affordable, accessible events for the whole community.’

So, it’s time to roll up, roll up and get your tickets to a show full of fun. Plus you’ll be helping to ensure Art really is for all.
