‘It Starts Here’ Exhibition at SWG3

A new multi-disciplinary group exhibition is running at the venue’s Zinc Bar. And, oh, the talent.

Amanda Seibaek’s ‘Sway’

The Arts, we can all agree have had an extremely hard road back following the pandemic. And creative communities have had many a sleepless night over how to keep their projects going. In Glasgow, it’s fair to say that SWG3 Yardworks have been an extremely positive success story. With art events throughout the year, studio shows, music and art collaborations, their innovation and hard work has really paid off.

This Nov – Dec ‘It Starts Here’ is a title that I’m sure resonates with many of the artists who call Yardworks their home. The multi-disciplinary group exhibition at SWG3’s Zinc Bar, sees 13 of Yardworks artists come together for the show. Painters, Graffiti and Street Artists as well as designers and photographers – every creative genre seems to be covered!

The Exhibition is very much a celebration of what Yardwork embodies – a sense of belonging to a group of like minded individuals, but a group who express themselves uniquely. How do these disciplines overlap, how do they differ? ‘It Starts Here’ explores the Yardworks world and applauds those artists who continue striving to ensure art stays alive in Glasgow.

Here’s a taster of some of the art that’s on show.
