Finding Your Feet’s art event is hoping to raise funds for the amputee charity.
A unique art event is landing in Paisley, with works by local artists from £20 to over £1,000 on sale to support Scots who have lost limbs.
Stunning realism, thought-provoking abstract and breath-taking nature photography are all on display at the Finding Your Feet Charity Hub, which has for years hosted dozens of works by artists hailing from Renfrewshire.
The building – a space for charities and businesses to work and collaborate – is currently home to eight groups that support the local community in various ways. Due to more organisations moving in, the art will no longer have pride of place and is being returned to the artists soon. That is, if it’s not sold at this sophisticated version of a ‘closing down sale.’
Artists who have pieces on display include Pat Kramek, Fiona Webster, Paul Roth, Mary Stuart and Stan Milne, some of whom will be in attendance to discuss their work.
Speaking about the event, Finding Your Feet Founder, Cor Hutton, said those in attendance will have a chance to have a special memento.
“Fundraising is increasingly tough in today’s climate, so we find ourselves thinking outside of the box. We’re extremely lucky that all of these talented artists are happy to donate a portion of the sales to support amputees, and only wish we could keep the work on display for longer.”
“Every picture tells a story, and anyone who purchases something will get the added bonus of having a work of art that not only has its own meaning but played a part in directly helping people who have lost limbs in Scotland through both physical fitness initiatives and emotional wellbeing support.”
Finding Your Feet this year celebrated a decade of supporting amputees, providing vital services for people of all ages, backgrounds and circumstances that led to losing a limb or limbs. Hutton, 54, has recently been awarded an MBE for her work.
The event will take place on Saturday March 2nd between 2PM and 4PM. Entry is free, but those attending are asked to fill out a simple form which can be found here alongside all the necessary details.
