BarkLove at SWG3

Our best friends deserve to be celebrated, don’t they? Well let’s head to the new Barklove festival on the 6th July for all things dog!

Without exception, my favourite things in this world are dogs. They make the world a better place. The love they give nourishes your soul. Sad? A head on your lap solves that. Bad day at work? That wag-tastic tail puts a smile on your face. Always cheerful, devotion without expectation, the big guy upstairs knew what he was doing when he created our dogs.

So let’s celebrate the mere existence of our canine chums in the inaugural BarkLove at SWG3. We know just how much doggy folk love their pooches and to that end, the entire SWG3 complex will ring to the sound of doggy tags, friendly woofs and tail pat-pats. Looking for dog friendly festivals in Glasgow? This one is going to be pick of the pups!

Doggy Daze

The day will be a whirlwind of activities for the honoured guests, education and entertainment for their people, as well as a doggy market and street food stalls.

We can expect some dog care demos and wellbeing sessions, courtesy of Scottish Canine Wellness. Time to reset with your bestie and enjoy a peaceful interlude in the day with these classes led by Fi Duffy. Head along to the Education and Demonstration sessions on the day. Having some behavioural issues? Teach your person how to behave better, then you won’t have to pull! And if they knew a little more on what foods are going to help you grow into a good dog, begging would be a thing of the past. With tips on training and nutrition, the full line-up will be announced in due course.

And whether a first time owner or a life-long dog lover, award-winning dog groomers Premier Dog Grooming and Tulloch’s Tails will be attending for dog care tips.

It’s Such a Pawfect Day

We all know our girls and boys are just the bestest in the world – yes they are! But who will win the festival’s coveted Barklove Fun Dog Show? The claws are out (fear not, there are groomers on hand!) Visitors can vote for their favourites in some heartwarming, feel good fun activities. Fancy a try at dog agility? Bearsden Dog Training Club will have an agility area for the hairy babies to get their grooves on.

And life will imitate bark, sorry art as ‘Barkworks’ invites dogs and their people along to create some self expression. In collaboration with Yardworks, visit the ‘hands-on’ art space and make some memories with your waggy chum.

Away from home and having extreme doggy withdrawal? Why not visit Pets As Therapy? Take the chance of a cuddle with the therapy dogs and find out about the utterly incredible job they do. We all know the power of a hug with our dogs; healing doesn’t quite cover it.

Canine Couture

Time for a shop with some of the coolest doggy gear brands on the market all in one place. Visit Poppy Monster Collars, MuckiMutz and Dogs Boutique for some new threads. There’s even some posh pooch attire at Corgi Queen and Co. You know everyone wants to stop and talk to you anyway – you are such a good boy. But with your new looks, your human:pat ratio will rocket.

After some super healthy treats? Look no further than PK’s Natural Treats, Shelby’s Dog Bakery and The Pooch Pantry. And for great nutrition, visit Paw Originals and Pure Pet Food.

The day will also have some of best natural medicines for our pups. The Natural Pet Pharmacy and The Natural Vet will be on hand.

Human-Friendly Area

It’s nice when you can have them along, and as such Barklove have catered for your people. DJs will be playing throughout the day and there will be some of the best Street Food around. Loop and Scoop will be there with churros, alongside Dirty Bird Fried Chicken, SMSH BRGR plus Tony’s Ice-Cream. Vegan and veggie options will also be on offer. With plenty of space for the humans above the table, you and your person can hang out over your churros and treats bonding session. There may even be time for a tummy rub and a post lunch nap in the sun.

As days out go, they don’t come more dog-gone perfect than this. Get your tickets for Barklove now!
