Following their previous masterclass success, the team behind Sci-Fi film ‘The Silent Messenger’ are on a mission to help up and coming filmmakers.

The ‘Silent Messenger’ is a new sci-fi mystery thriller film. The plot revolves around a series of extra-terrestrial symbols appearing across the globe, leading the masses to have similar vivid, terrifying dreams. The film is a tremendous achievement for the filmmakers, working with a small cast and even smaller budget. Not that you would know that. With clever Hollywood filmaking techniques, the film looks bigger than it’s small budget would lead you to believe.
The film is a collaboration of Glasgow based filmmaker Simon Bishop, Dr Katja Frimberger of the University of Strathclyde and Alexander Crawford, who came on board as performers. In producing the film, understanding the techniques required, a film education project has developed. Following completion of the film, the team has now been funded to share their film and screen skills with young people who want to embark on their own filmmaking journey. The masterclass will take place on Saturday 25th April at The Grosvenor Cinema, Ashton Lane
Lights, Camera
The masterclass will cover everything a filmmaker needs to know to take an idea for a short/feature film all the way through production, to release and festival screenings.

And when it comes to directing, how do you get the best from actors, create drama and suspense – basically, how do you shoot a Hollywood level film even on a small budget?

Post production is also covered too. Learn secret editing techniques used in films and get your production looking like a Hollywood Blockbuster!
