Remember American wholesomeness? Nowadays that’s a hard ask, but Boston band Couch harken back to a time when 80s US squeaky-clean sitcoms were ubiquitous, reassuring all of us that the world was a happy safe place. There’s quite a lot of them in the band, I counted at least seven with female lead singer Tema Siegel fronting all the virile genuineness.
Couch’s music is expertly performed blue eyed pop soul with heavy jazz leanings. It’s becoming popular too, with most of their shows selling out on the back of their debut album ‘Big Talk’.

Please bear with me… ‘she said take your time what’s the rush, I said baby I’m a dog I’m a MUTT…’ I was unsure as I typed these words, they don’t read well. But just go and play Leon Thomas’s huge global hit ‘MUTT’, it will have you off your seat and dancing in ways you haven’t done for a long, long time. What a riff!
Leon Thomas is a 30 something American soul singer/songwriter/producer from New York City. He gained worldwide recognition for starring as Andre Harris in the 2010 Nickelodeon series Victorious, after which he shifted his focus solely towards music forming the hit production team The Rascals. It was a wise move as he soon found himself working with Ariana Grande, Babyface, Drake, etc. Yup, talent abounds, but still he’s a dog he’s a MUTT.
