Think you know HR? Take a look at Tracey Chrystal’s insightful Human Resources Books.

Human Resources Books

Most people imagine policies, procedures and endless paperwork. But behind every process lies real human stories — funny, challenging, surprising and sometimes a bit uncomfortable. That’s the side of HR we rarely talk about.

In 2024, Tracey Chrystal, an accomplished business owner and director with over 30 years’ experience, decided it was time to publish her book of HR truths. She wrote Human Resources Not Human Remains to offer an honest, warm and witty peek behind the curtain of working with people every day — inviting conversation about the topics we normally tiptoe around, while keeping professional integrity at the heart.

Over 750 copies were sold online in the first year. It’s available to order nationwide through Gardners and is currently stocked at the flagship Waterstones on Sauchiehall Street.

Chrystal HR and Coaching supports businesses with practical, people-first HR solutions. Based on the River Clyde, the consultancy works with organisations of all sizes across the full employee lifecycle — helping employers stay confident, compliant and genuinely focused on their biggest asset — their people.
