You’ll be hard-pressed to find a West Ender who hasn’t been to Ramen Dayo or Vodka Wodka on Ashton Lane. Harder still to find one to doesn’t love ramen and cocktails!
The two beloved favourites have been mainstays of the West End’s vibrant hospitality scene for years now and are the perfect places to enjoy steaming bowls of ramen and crafted cocktails in the heart of Ashton Lane.
They’re on the Move!

You’ll now be able to enjoy both in more spacious surroundings. It’s just been announced that Ramen Dayo and its neighbour Vodka Wodka will be moving to a larger three-story premises. They will not have far to go though. They will be moving into the former Innis & Gunn site on Ashton Lane.
Vodka Wodka will occupy the ground floor of the new space while Ramen Dayo will operate from the middle floor. The venue will also be perfect place to host any upcoming graduation/birthday celebrations since its top floor will house a new private events area.
The move will significantly increase capacity for Ramen Dayo, growing from 25 covers to 60. It will also allow Vodka Wodka to introduce food for the first time, using the new venue’s kitchen.
To make the news even better, it has also been announced that the duo’s relocation means that all existing staff roles will be retained. The teams are even hoping to expand further once the new venue opens.
Both Vodka Wodka and Ramen Dayo are looking to go out with a bang before relocating. A weekend of discounts and parties are planned from Friday 24th – Sunday 26th April. Marking the occasion in the only way the two iconic venues know how? by serving tasty food and delicious drinks!
New Home – Same Great Food

On the upcoming relocation, a spokesperson for Vodka Wodka and Ramen Dayo commented: “Although it’s sad to be leaving our current home, this move gives us the opportunity to grow what we’ve built, and the positive news is that we are staying in the globally renowned Ashton Lane. We will expand the Ramen Dayo offering, introduce a shared private events floor and continue to serve our loyal Vodka Wodka customers for many years to come.”
The move is just the next step in the remarkable rise of Ramen Dayo. The Japanese favourite first started serving its tasty ramen from the hand-built yatai ramen cart in Gordon Street Lane ten years ago. Suffice to say, it did not take long for professional food critics and Glaswegians alike to fall in love with the authentic flavours and hearty helpings that were being served. The cart received a 10/10 review from food critic Joanna Blythman in The Sunday Herald and was highlighted by the New York Times as being “Scotland’s only premium ramen shop”. Ramen Dayo opened its first full restaurant soon after and expanded into its current location in Ashton Lane in 2018.
Cheers to the Future!

Vodka Wodka story is one of similar success. The iconic cocktail bar first opened in Paisley before planting its roots in its current West End location in the early 2000’s. Since then, the bar has been the host of many late-night drinks, student celebrations and even celebrity encounters. Though, not for Keira Knightly as she was reportedly once turned away at the door!
Both venues are planning opening events at their new home and details of these will be announced in the coming weeks, likely on the venues’ social media pages: @vodwodkagla and @ramendayo.

Walk-ins are most welcome, but it is probably better to book to avoid disappointment.
The same goes for if you are looking for a cheeky “Jolly Rancher” cocktail at Vodka Wodka. If you’re a student, definitely go on a Wednesday night. With £5 cocktails and pints for under £3, there’s no better place to be! vodkawodka
It certainly seems like big things are on the horizon for two of the West End’s most loved venues!
