Last year saw the very first Scottish Rum Festival held in Edinburgh. With a bold return this year, our dear green place plays host for 2024.
Yes we all know that whisky is THE Scottish tipple of choice. And that you can’t throw a stick without hitting a new gin producer. But coming up on the outside in recent years has been the deliciously decadent spirit that is rum.
After a very successful inaugural year in 2023, the Scottish Rum Festival returns in 2024 to our very own SWG3 in Glasgow. The festival promises to blend history and heritage of rum with flavours from the very best of Scotlands up and coming rum producers. With long established distillers on hand too, a true diversity of taste sensations will be on offer at Eastvale Place.
Tickets to the event include a Glencairn tasting glass, a meet-the-maker experience and, of course, tastings! With early bird tickets already sold out, the enthusiasm for rum is clear. Jasmine Wheelhouse, Scottish Rum Festival organiser says ‘Following the success of our inaugural event, we are excited to once again showcase Scotland’s rich rum heritage and the incredible producers on the Scottish rum map. With an array of fantastic producers, interactive masterclasses, and of course, plenty of rum, this year’s festival promises to be even bigger and better than before.’
With whisky, gin and even coffee festivals becoming favourite annual events , the Scottish Rum Festival is set to be added to our ever expanding yearly highlights.
