April
Top for Food and Drink
Taste the Place 850 is a new campaign being launched to celebrate Glasgow’s 850th Anniversary.
Throughout April, Glaswegians will get the chance to learn about Glasgow’s food and drink history by ‘eating their way around the city.’ You don’t have to ask me twice.
The self-guided digital guide will launch in April and will take the people of the city on a journey of culinary delights from independent eateries. Around 40 eateries so far have partnered with the campaign. From old glesgae favourites to nouvelle cuisine, this heritage tour has the lot. See Glasgow’s oldest sweet shop, visit an Italian bistro within the UK’s only remaining tram shelter, taste every cuisine that calls Glasgow home and all at your own pace.

Top for Easter Events

For you to feel ready for the Easter Holiday mayem, we are starting off with an event for mums, dads and all disco divas out there. The fantastic Silent Disco at Kelvingrove is a chance to boogie the night away in the illuminated surroundings of Kelvingrove Art Gallery. DJs will be spinning the tables (yip showing my age) to music of the 80s, 90s and 00s. With no one to judge whether you’ve got the rhythm in you, throw those moves!
But if the kiddies do want to bust a groove, what about The Bouncing Bunny Easter Rave at the Classic Grand? Of course you’d rather be at Kelvingrove, but it was your choice to have kids, so buckle up. With bouncy castles, bubble machines, balloon modelling and oldskool party anthems, chaos is guaranteed. There’s also a bar. All joking aside, this promises to tick all the boxes for a family fun day out and is bang in the middle of the city so easily accessible.
For other fantastic family fun events? There are tons of shows on at the Scottish Mask and Puppet Theatre. The Stand Comedy Club are also hosting Easter events which are specifically for children.
