The Monkey Shoulder Jam @ SWG3

SWG3 and Yardworks presents The Monkey Shoulder Jam—a weekend filled with art, food, music and good vibes.

A Wealth of Creativity

SWG3 is known to many as a place which brings artistry to life as one of Scotland’s most unique independent venues. This lively hub is at the forefront of creativity for not only talented Glaswegians but those further afield.

And Yardworks studio—the most recent addition to SWG3’s venues—is the first purpose-built home for street arts in Scotland, offering a space for hundreds of artists to create, experiment, and refine their craft.

This September will see over 30 artists coming together to share their passion in a weekend celebrating innovation and individuality across the 7th and 8th of the month.

You can expect whisky based drinks and cocktails with Monkey Shoulder as the main sponsor of the two-day event. Tasty grub will be on offer throughout the day from street food vendors like Nomad Pizza all while local DJ’s jam it out on the decks.

This experience will unite grassroots and established artists like Glasgow based Frodrik (@frodrik_), Taio (@bosscitytaio) and Marcus of Marcus Tattoos (@marcustattoos), who’ll spend the weekend painting murals.

This graffiti jam comes after this year’s Yardworks Festival which has become a phenomenon across Europe of graffiti and urban arts, honouring the remarkable talent, skill and creativity found amongst the global and local graffiti communities.

And What a Canvas…

Over two days, the concrete playground that is Galvanizers Yard transforms into a vibrant canvas of colour, creativity, and collaboration. Urban artists and enthusiasts from around the world come together to paint, draw, inspire, and educate—or simply to relax and enjoy some street food surrounded by incredible artwork.

You can find the studio in the Galvanizers Yard on the edge of Eastvale Place, with a heated workshop and a 6-metre-high wall for extensive artworks. This spot is the vibrant heart of a new street arts district across Partick, Yorkhill, and Govan, boasting a glazed front wall for passers-by to see a glimpse into the artist’s world and the pieces they create.

Montana Cans are sponsors of The Monkey Shoulder Jam. The event will encompass all that art represents and take graffiti to new heights for Glasgow and beyond.
