A Play, a Pie and a Pint have launched their Spring performances. There are some belters on the programme.  Look out for Swansong, a gentle new musical exploring desperation and the reawakening of hope.  Over one night across the skies of Edinburgh, a young woman and her unlikely companion rediscover the joy of being alive.  A soulful and unforgettable musical.

Joy is a dramedy, where the titular character could not be further in character than her name. Following a truly awful date, Joy embarks on a journey to find a sense of humour. Through sure-proof internet advice, Joy’s self-discovery leads her along a five-step programme, learning to find ‘joy’ in who she really is.

And finally, leading up to Easter, Miss Lockwood Isn’t Well, tells the story of a teacher in a Catholic Primary School who is suspended from her role following some interesting ‘events’ in her classroom. Is Miss Lockwood truly having some religious visitations, or is she indeed, not too well?  Dramatic yes, but this play is laced with comedy too whilst exploring religion and belief.

The enormously popular Country2Country lands at the Ovo Hydro in March for a weekend of good ole’ country music.  Over the last decade or so, country music has evolved into a universal movement, influencing mainstream pop artists and beyond.  On the line-up over the three-day weekend, country royalty such as Keith Urban, Brooks and Dunn and Zach Top will all take to the stage.  It’s a party like no other…well almost no other.
