Is there any better way to spend an evening than enjoying time with friends, walking through West End streets and exploring its award-winning bars and restaurants? If you’re anything like me, there certainly isn’t.

Corner Shop
It would not be a wine lovers’ guide to the West End without Corner Shop.
Despite being a relatively new addition to the area, they really have it down to a fine art. With outdoor seating providing the ideal summer people-watching and a well balanced wine list which changes frequently, what more could you ask?
I would thoroughly recommend their selection of orange wine – particularly their Grenache, Gris Muscat blend from Roussion, providing the perfect balance between fresh and funky. The staff are delightful, clearly know their wines, and are on hand to provide an excellent recommendation if needed. A must visit all round.

Partick Duck Club
A West End institution and for great reason; the food is second to none and the atmosphere hits the perfect mark between premium and low-key.
However, Partick Duck Club is also a dangerously underrated wine spot. The attention to detail is unmatched, with chilled champagne coups as standard with glasses of Cava, and perhaps my favourite West End by the glass option: The Crusher, Napa, Cabernet Sauvignon. I am extremely partial to a big red and this truly ticks every box – its fruity and smoky, with just a hint of Cigar. Truly, the perfect by-the-glass red that I can’t help coming back to.

Fonn Mór
Despite being a recent discovery of mine, Fonn Mór has fast become one of my favourite venues. The entire venue has an incredible atmosphere, with a live pianist perfectly complementing the moody low-lighting. The wine list contains high quality, classic options by the glass, but I was particularly impressed by their incredible wine specials. I would thoroughly recommend their Grüner Veltliner special, (while stocks last) bursting with citrus and notes of white pepper. It made the perfect accompaniment to their selection of small plates (their Lamb Kofta is a must try).
Overall, Fonn Mór is absolutely a new favourite of mine down to the atmosphere alone but paired with their amazing list of wines, I consider it to be one of the best bars in the West End, if not Glasgow itself.
