Trick or Treat yourself to a night (or two!) of dancing, disco, and Halloween-themed fun this spooky season hosted by revered party promoters Optimo and Melting Pot.
While these Halloween-themed party nights promise to play music that will be loud enough to “raise the dead,” they will not be held in a bar or club as one might expect for such an occasion. They will instead be held in one of the most iconic museums in Glasgow, the Riverside Museum. Optimo’s Halloween party night, titled “Espookio made us do it”, will be held on Friday 1st November. Melting Pot’s party night will be celebrating the ghosts of disco past and present on Saturday 2nd November.

Rising from the Dead
Optimo are in fact no stranger to hosting nights of spooktacular fun. Indeed, one of the most eagerly anticipated nights in Glasgow’s clubbing calendar “Espookio” was hosted by the duo at Sub Club for more than a decade. Now, 14 years later, Optimo claims to have “heard the voice of Espookio” and this mega Halloween party is back, rising from the dead!
Speaking of the event’s revival, Optimo’s Jonnie Wilkes said: “Just when we thought we were out, we get dragged back in – Optimo Halloween is back! If you’re gonna get down, get down and pray!”
Glaswegians may not be getting down to pray at Espookio’s grand return, but they will certainly be getting down to party… and in a museum of all places! The unique and unusual location of the two events presents partygoers with the opportunity to celebrate All Hallow’s Eve in spooktacular style. The museum’s iconic old street offers visitors the opportunity to step back in time and see Glasgow in a bygone era. For the event, it will be decorated to make the night extra spooky, with partygoers having the unique chance to dance among the old trains, trams, and automobiles that used to transport Glaswegians once upon a time.

Halloween party nights at the Riverside Museum are, however, nothing new. In fact, 2024 will be the fourth year that Melting Pot has hosted their disco-themed Halloween Party at the Riverside Museum. Like previous years, partygoers will be able to dance through the decades, thanks to an epic DJ-curated disco soundtrack. They will be joined by an array of stilt walkers and drag dancers while they do so, to make the night extra special.
Spine-Tingling Fun
The director of Melting Pot, Mark MacKechnie, comments: “The disco bloodbath returns for one night only and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to the museum for our annual Halloween Party in the most amazing of venues. Get dressed up and get your disco ON!”
The blend of timeless disco music, flamboyant entertainers, and an eclectic mix of Halloween costumes will give partygoers an unforgettable Halloween-themed night under the mirror ball.

With the Riverside Museum being a stone’s throw away from the West End, these grand Halloween parties offer West Enders the chance to celebrate the spooky season in style without the need to travel to Glasgow’s bustling city centre. Doors open for both events at 7pm (last entry is at 9pm) and will creak shut just after midnight, giving partygoers the chance to escape before the witching hour hits. Tickets are still available to purchase online for both events but booking early is recommended to avoid disappointment. Dressing up is not mandatory, but partygoers are more than welcome to put on a costume and truly get into the Halloween spirit.
So Westenders, get your costumes sorted and get ready to party the night away this Halloween with a night (or two) at the museum!
