Fancy a new Christmas song to get those toes tapping? Well Kathleen MacInnes New Christmas single is just the ticket.
Bing. Slade. Mariah. Iconic artists who brought us the ear-worm Christmas songs we all love.

Throwing her Santa-hat in the ring is Scots Gaelic singer Kathleen MacInnes, who’s brand-new Christmas single, ‘Santa Take Me Home’, is out from Friday 5th December 2025. Kathleen wrote the song when caught up in a journey home-gone-wrong. And from personal adversity came a heart-warming Christmas tale.
In December 2023, Kathleen was performing in Max Webster’s acclaimed London West End production of Macbeth. When the curtain came down on Christmas Eve, she, along with other Scottish cast mates, including the lead David Tennant, had to battle the elements to get back to Scotland. With flight cancellations and a London cab strike, it was an arduous journey. Two years later, that fateful journey became the inspiration for her new single.
There’s No Place Like Home

Writing ‘Santa Take Me Home’ that very night, Kathleen weaves her heart felt need to be home with memories of Christmases past. We all have favourite Christmas memories of times gone by. For Kathleen it’s a family trip to Aviemore, visiting the reindeer, travelling on the Cairngorm Funicular Railway and taking in the views from the top. And if Heathrow can’t fly her home, maybe another air-borne mode of transport can… Santa!
The track was produced by Edinburgh-based composer, arranger and sound artist Alan Penman. With Kathleen on vocals, the single also features Edinburgh musician Luisa Brown on fiddle.
Kathleen says: ‘This song came straight from that chaotic Christmas Eve, equal parts panic, hope and longing to be home with my family. It’s a moment so many people will recognise, that pull to get back to the people and places you love most at Christmas.’
The track will be available on all major streaming and download platforms from Friday 5th December 2025.
