SWG3 hosts the 5th edition of Scotland’s Biggest Contemporary Art Market, Art Car Boot Sale
Art Car Boot Sale, the biggest contemporary art market in Scotland will return at the end of June. The event will be held in SWG3’s enormous indoor and outdoor spaces. The market is brought to you by Patricia Fleming Gallery and hosts SWG3.
Over 100 well known artists from Scotland and beyond will bring their works and sell them from the boots of their cars, bikes, etc. Amongst the artists showcasing their work will be Turner Prize nominees, award-winning artists and new talent.
Artist Attendees
Amongst the artists will be Amanda Selbaek, making her debut at the market. Amanda uses digital drawing, painting and print. Most recently her acclaimed Hemispheres exhibition took place at SWG3. Amanda uses themes to generate discussion, stretching facts into fiction and to visualise inner emotion. Also present will be Sekai Machache, a Zimbabwean-Scottish visual artist. Her work layers drawing, performance, film and photography into photo compositions. she has recently focused her work on the Scottish landscape, Celtic folklore and Black Scottish Identity. Through a process of disseminating symbolic imagery ‘her work surfaces concerns around slavery, colonialism and the racial profile of rural Scotland’.
The 2023 line-up promises to bring together regular exhibitors as well as new faces joining the Art Car Boot Sale for the first time. Buying directly from the artists, prices range from £5.00 to £5000.

Bringing together fantastic artists all under one roof selling a diverse range of incredible work along with workshops, DJs, food and drinks this weekend has something for everyone to enjoy.‘

The event takes place on Saturday June 24th (10am-6pm) and Sunday June 25th (11am-5pm). Tickets are £5, available on the door at SWG3 or in advance here.
