This December, online book club Bookface brings you Sip and Swap, launching Susannah Constantine’s brand new memoir. It’s a chance to peruse over 500 books in a sustainable ‘swap’ whilst having a little glass of fizz or two. An afternoon soiree with a difference, it takes place in Arta, Merchant City.
The online book group has 2300 members worldwide with the premise ‘Life is too short for $&*! books! Instead, why not read a rollickingly good one?
The event celebrates the launch of ‘Ready for Absolutely Nothing’, a new memoir by Susannah Constantine. In conversation with Scottish broadcaster Kaye Adams, broadcaster and author Susannah will lift the lid on her amazing life. Born into a privileged lifestyle, Susannah was a socialite in London’s Mayfair and no stranger to holidaying at Balmoral. Subsequently, her career in fashion PR threw her firmly into the worldwide spotlight with Trinny Woodall, educating us all in ‘What NOT to Wear’. The duo’s candid honesty and fashion tips had the nation layering and avoiding horizontal stripes! However, with success came the realisation that changes were needed in her life. She had to get sober. Now 60 and sober, Susannah is delighted to be coming to Glasgow. With tales of Strictly and I’m a Celebrity, an entertaining afternoon is certainly guaranteed.
Heather Suttie, founder of Bookface, says ‘We’re thrilled to be hosting Susannah at two events in Glasgow. The first sold out in under an hour. I read her memoir in two sittings and gave it a five-star review. She will make a super guest and we expect tickets to fly out the door for this Sip and Swap.’
Moreover, what a great way to get your hands on some new reads. Heather says ‘Books bring us together and guests love the book swap as there are 500 titles to choose from. It’s a great way of saving money, living sustainably, picking up “new books” and getting together with people who really love reading and hearing from talented storytellers like Susannah.’
Bookface’s Sip and Swap takes place at Arta, Merchant City on Sat 3rd Dec from 2-4pm
The new memoir by Susannah Constantine ‘Ready for Absolutely Nothing’ is published by Michael Joseph (£20).
