A new social media history project will launch by Four Acres Charitable Trust (FACT) in March. ‘Stories All Along Great Western Road’ will collect the myriad of tales, events and eccentric history of the famous road. Using social media and individual stories, the history project aims to capture and celebrate memories of Great Western Road.
Anything goes in this history project. Whether you had a favourite restaurant, got married in a church, worked or lived in the area. The Four Acres Charitable Trust want to hear from you.
On Monday 6th of March the project will launch

at Websters Theatre. Enjoy a drinks reception and a talk from Gordon Urquhart about the street and Websters Theatre itself.
David Robertson, Director of FACT said,
‘This unique project is the first step to actively recording the history of the road and in turn, Websters Theatre. We want to make sure that we engage with the community to capture their stories of this wonderfully, rich historic road.’
In addition, Project Manager Karen Malley said,
‘With this social media project, we hope to capture, explore and share a multitude of past and present voices who have impacted, experienced, or shaped Great Western Road.’
