The new Six by Nico will open on Byres Road on 27th February.
The long anticipated addition to the renowned Scottish-Italian Chef’s empire will open on the site of the former Fopp record shop.
It’s the 11th restaurant in Nico Simeone’s UK and Ireland portfolio and his 3rd in Glasgow. Those who have frequented the ‘Six’ restaurants previously will know that the tasting menus offered change every 6 weeks. The 6 course tasting menus are carefully designed to create a themed dining experience. Over the years the menus have focused on places, memories, stories. Nico and his team draw inspiration from all corners of the globe – be it street markets of the Middle East or Scottish childhood memories.
Starting in Finnieston in 2017, Nico’s passion for experimentation resulted in the unique dishes presented in his first ‘Six’. Thus, his innovative concept was borne.
Expansion
Growing from strength to strength, he is looking forward to his 3rd Glasgow venture. He says
‘We are thrilled to bring a third restaurant location to Glasgow. Expansion in the city where our concept began is a significant step in our plan to grow further this year. We have quickly built an enthusiastic base of repeat customers in Glasgow, as well as an incredibly loyal customer base. We are excited to introduce a new restaurant design to both returning and new customers.’
With this new 52 seat capacity restaurant in such a prime location on Byres Road, it’s perfectly situated for lunch, dinner and a wander around the West End. The Sixco Group commissioned Glasgow-based designers Burns Design for their new venture. And in such an institution as the old Fopp Record Shop, one can imagine the restaurant will be look as great as the food on offer.
With menus only being revealed 2 weeks before the next theme, it’s an incredibly inventive dining experience. One that those booking well in advance have no idea what will be on offer. Luckily with Chef Simeone in charge, diners are in great hands.
