Rising new singer-songwriter Riley has released her brand new pop single ‘First, Love’. At the heart of the single is the message of female empowerment and self acceptance. Riley is gaining a reputation as one of Glasgow’s best up-and-coming live acts. The young star’s pop style has more than a nod towards Country influences.

Her debut single Go-Getters was supported by ‘BBC Introducing…’ It was also chosen as BBC Radio Scotland’s Single of the Week. In addition, she was named by the Glasgow Times as their Time Out Artist of the Week. Her follow up single Jigsaw Lover led to her headlining Glasgow King Tuts in the summer of 2022.

The new track, was written at a difficult time for all of us. ‘I was inspired to write it during lockdown after experiencing my first heartbreak and deciding to flip the narrative and make the song about finding yourself after the end of a relationship. It’s all about new beginnings and self-empowerment’, explains Riley.

Riley is also a co-founder of Girls Girls Girls, creative space in Glasgow for women and queer people in music. ‘Glasgow has such a thriving music scene and we wanted to create somewhere special for women and queer people in the industry,’ says the star. ‘We hold regular events and it’s a space where people can come together and be creative in a really encouraging and warm environment.’
