The Wardrobe Edit

The Closet Stylist
As summer approaches I know many of you are pulling out the ‘holiday” bag and pondering beachwear. Does it still fit? Does it still suit your body shape? Getting Swimwear right or getting swimwear we feel comfortable in can be a difficult process. Like everything it is important to try try and try again. There are some amazing pieces available in the Westend at the moment so here is a guide to choosing a suit that is right for you.

£66, Silks
FULLER BUSTS
If you are endowed with a fuller bust you will want a two or one piece with decent support. Something like this Freya set, available from Silks, has great structure & support. This brand are great for fuller busts. You want to avoid off the shoulder, racer back or square neck swimsuits as these can make the bust look larger.
LESS WELL ENDOWED

£162, Silks
When you are a little less well endowed you might want something that accentuates the bust area. Frills, details and ruffles add a little texture up top which gives the illusion of a fuller bust.
A racerback or triangle bikini shape is also very flattering for this shape. Something with a little interest up top like this one shoulder suit from Silks Glasgow would be ideal.
FEELING A LITTLE BIT SQUARE

£38, Biscuit Clothing
If you feel a little ‘rectangular’ in shape, i.e. there isn’t that much difference between the diameter of your waist and your bust/hips a two piece is a great option for you. This will draw attention to the waist. Look for bikinis with a high waist band which will be really flattering for your shape. You might also go for a suit that has a design like this one from Biscuit Clothing, the print draws the centre of the hips inwards and creates a waist shape where you might feel none exists!
ATHLETIC

If you feel like you have an athletic or even ‘triangle’ frame in that your shoulders are wider than your hips, halter-neck bikinis or racer back bikinis are a great shape for you. Something like this fantastic one piece from Silks would work well for your shape!
Seafolly Swimsuit
£120, Silk
ON THE BOTTOM

£185, Silks
Now the bottom area is a topic all of it’s own. If you want to elongate the legs you want a high cut leg. If you want more coverage but can’t get it you might try buying a tie side bikini bottom in a size up and tying it to fit – more ass coverage. Something like this awesome set from Silks would be ideal, full bum coverage and a fun print!
WHAT TO WEAR WITH IT ALL
Now that is the best part beach trows, easy sliders and a straw bag and you are off! Awesome two piece sets like this one from Pampas can be worn separately or together, with your bikini for day or with a heel taking you from day to night!
