A Dream Come True

Jennifer Beattie dreamed of playing with the RSNO. Recently her dream came true.

Jennifer Beattie has ben a lifelong fan of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. The 62 year old has loved percussion since she was a young girl. Her parents’ were also orchestra fans and as such she has played tambourine from an early age.
Wiltshire Farm Foods of whom Jennifer is a regular customer have a national Wishlist Fund competition. The competition gives anyone over 55 the chance to achieve their bucket list dream. The nutrition and home delivery ready meals company chose Jennifer as their winner and her RSNO dream began.

A Dream Come True

She says ‘When I first got the email from Wiltshire Farm Foods, I couldn’t
believe it. This whole experience just proves that the things you dream
of can happen.’
Jennifer’s day included a private percussion workshop with musicians and watching the RSNO rehearse at the Royal Concert Hall with Thomas Sondergard. She was also presented with a 2023/24 season ticket by the orchestra.
Rowan Mallon, Operations Manager of Wiltshire Farm Foods says,
‘It was a real honour to help Jennifer tick this dream experience off
her bucket list. She has been a customer of ours for many years and my
team always find her such a joy to speak with each week on the phone.
We love being able to bring some sunshine to our customers’ days,
whether through special experiences such as this one or simply our
delivery drivers showing a friendly face at the door.’
With its campaign it is hoped that the stereotypes associated with the ‘older generation’ can be changed.
Following her RSNO day Jennifer said ‘I may have been waiting for 50 years, but today I have finally achieved that dream of learning percussion.’
