Glasgow Jazz Festival Back in Full Swing

The 2023 Glasgow Jazz Festival returns on the 14th June. The programme will bring lovers of Jazz a great selection of jazz, blues, soul, funk and R&B. Some of the biggest names across these genres will be performing in the city during the festival, now in its 37th outing.

The five day festival sees 30 events staged. Venues hosting the concerts are situated in all parts of the city. Here in the West End, Oran Mor and The Hug and Pint will be joined for the first time this year by The Mackintosh Church.

What’s On at the Glasgow Jazz Festival 2023

International and world renowned names from Jazz join the fantastic Scottish talent here at home. Fergus McCreadie, Jazz FM’s Instrumentalist of the Year will perform his unique jazz combined with folk at the Mackintosh Church. Scottish funk outfit Federation of the Disco Pimp will be on stage at Oran Mor. At Drygate in the East End, Glasgow jazz outfit Graham Costello’s Strata will perform. The group are eight times Scottish Jazz Awards nominees, as well as winning the Scottish Album of the year.

Marco Mezquida Trio

From the worldwide stage, soul legend Gino Washington will play Oran Mor with the fantastic Ram Jam Band. Look out too for the rare chance to see the Marco Mezquida Trio live. The award-winning Spanish pianist and composer has toured worldwide, but this is his first appearance at the Glasgow Jazz Festival. Finishing the festival will be the genius of American trombonist Steve Turre. The Steve Turre sextet will be performing at the East End’s St Luke’s, showcasing tracks from his 2022 album Generations. The album was a celebration of jazz geniuses across the eras and is a fitting end to a truly wonderful festival.
